Vintage Heraldic Shield Necklace

A vintage heraldic shield necklace.   This hefty heraldic shield necklace consists of a gold-tone metal shield shaped pendant dangling from a regal looking hefty open work linked chain necklace.  The shield pendant consists of two layers with the lower level forming a backdrop of sunburst rays of light in gold-tone and black detailed metal with the top layer an enameled shield in soft grey, white, black and gold with a horses head, castle, cannon and cactus set in between two white enamel crossed arms.  A gold tone metal banner is set below the shield with no inscription.  This chain has the older thumbless catch when combined with the heft and quality of material tells us without a doubt this is indeed an older necklace.  This necklace has a condition issue with some slight scratches to the enamel finish on the pendant.  This necklace measures approx. 18" long with the pendant hanging approx. 1-7/8" x 2" longer.
