This vintage pair of Italian gilt bookends features Raphael's renowned masterpieces, Madonna of the Chair and Madonna Dell'Impannata, prominently displayed in the center of each piece. Each bookend is richly detailed with raised gilt designs and accented with black highlights, resting on tin metal supports with felt bottoms to protect your surfaces. Beautiful enough to be admired beyond their practical use, these bookends are a charming addition that enhances the elegance of any bookshelf. The arched top of the Madonna of the Chair has a condition issue with slight chips in the top and some on one side. Each arched devotional image measures 4-1/4" wide x 7-1/8" high x 1/2" deep with the tin bottoms measuring approx. 4" wide x 4-1/4".
