This unique antique print from the 1897 issue of La Mode Illustree, a Parisian fashion journal established in 1859, showcases the fashion of the time period in vivid detail. Along with each publication, a separate, hand-colored engraving was sent to subscribers. This particular print, produced in 1886 and 1897, boasts exceptional engraving and color quality that is rarely seen in modern prints. Though there is some toning and a small indent in one area, the print depicts a family engaging in playful and educational activities in their own home, making it a one-of-a-kind piece. Professionally matted in blue with a hand-painted French line on top, this antique print measures approximately 16-1/4" x 20-1/4" overall with an image size of approximately 9-3/4" x 13-3/4".
