Antique 1886 La Mode Illustree French Fashion Print

An antique 1886 la Mode Illustree French fashion print.  The fashion journal, La Mode illustree was published in Paris beginning in 1859, and illustrated the fashions of that period.  With each publication, a separate hand-colored engraved print was also sent to the subscriber.  This particular print was produced in 1886 and 1897, and vividly illustrated the fashion of the era with a quality of engraving and color rarely seen in modern prints.  This antique print is single matted in a white mat with a hand painted french line on top of the mat. It is wrapped in plastic.  The antique print measures approx. 16" x 20" overall with an image size of approx. 9-1/2" x 13-1/2".
