A Maurice Taquoy antique La Gazette du Bon Ton " La Fidelite Recompensee"  1913 fashion print Paris. La Gazette du Bon Ton was published in Paris from 1912-1925 featuring brightly colored fashion pochoir-printed illustrations of contemporary fashion.  The illustrations were done by such noted artists as Georges Lepape, George Barbier, Erte, Pierre Brissard, Andre Marty, Charles Marton, Maurie Taquoy, and Umberto Brunelleschi.

The "pochoir" process is a technique of using stencils to make colored prints and was refined in France during the last quarter of the 19th century. After an analysis of the color sin the original composition, a stencil is cut for the areas of each different color. Next each pigment is hand applied with a short, soft bristle brush over the black ink outlines.

The end result is an amazing quality brightly colored print of a woman in an elegant green and black dress admonishing her dog not to eat the sweets that are on the table. A beautiful countryside view behind her seen thru the open window.  This antique Bon Ton Fashion pochoir print measuring approx. 12-1/2" x 14-1/2" "shrink wrapped in a single mat with hand drawn French lines on top and an image size of approx. 6-1/2" x 8-1/2".
